In or Out?

In or Out?

In or out? That is the question that has been asked over and over again over these past few weeks.

Both camps have been campaigning relentlessly, some with great arguments and others with reaons that don’t hold water. It can be confusing to come to a decision when you feel that you don’t have all the information you need, but it doesn’t need to be.

Paul wrote: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28.

If Christ sees us as one people, who are we to raise up barriers and encourage division?

Throughout the Bible we read stories of people who achieved great things when they worked together. Let us remember their examples. Let us remember that we are stronger by building bridges, not moats. Let us pray for an outcome that is attuned to God’s will.

At MCHW we have been encouraging those passing our church to make use of our chapel to pray about their decision.  It is important that whatever the result of Thursday’s referendum we continue to pray and love our European brothers and sisters in Christ, as we oursleves are loved.
