Methodist Central Hall was delighted to host one of the most watched TV events of 2016, Channel 4’s ‘Stand Up to Cancer’.
Stand Up to Cancer raised over £16 million pounds during the night. The event was broadcast live from Central Hall and saw a number of celebrities take part in the live show including Davina McCall, Alan Carr, Noel Gallagher, Boy George, John Legend and Adam Hills. This is the second time that Channel 4 has selected Methodist Central Hall for this prestigious event. #StandUpToCancer was the #1 trending topic in the UK during the event and our team provided live tweets, even though Twitter was going through a major cyber attack!

Stand Up To Cancer is a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 which raises funds for translational research, accelerating new cancer treatments and tests to UK patients to save more lives, more quickly. Revd Dr Martyn Atkins, Superintendent Minister of Methodist Central Hall said, ‘We were glad to be the venue for Stand Up to Cancer last Friday, and delighted that so much is being raised to help Cancer Research.’
