Organ Recital – Simon Lawford with Jan Dumee (Guitar)

Simon Lawford was organ scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford, and Assistant Organist at Peterborough Cathedral and Christ Church, Oxford before moving to be Organist and Director of Music at St George’s Cathedral, Perth, Australia. In 2008 he fulfilled a lifelong ambition by performing briefly with the legendary Dutch prog rock band ‘Focus’ in St David’s Hall, Cardiff. He now lives mainly in Normandy, where he is Conseiller Artistique of the Association pour le Sauvegarde de l’Orgue de Notre-Dame de Vimoutiers.

Dutch composer and guitar-virtuoso Jan Dumée is widely acclaimed for his rich and surprising compositional work and guitar playing that draws on a palette of many expressions, sounds and great musical taste. As a unique composer with a significant individual style, his work is highly praised.
