Improvising God

‘Improvising God’ is a very special ‘Jazz Vespers’ weekend festival exploring Sacred Jazz music in a number of different contexts. Led by Prof Clive Marsh, (Vice President of the Methodist Conference) and saxophonists Dan Forshaw (Cambridge) and Uwe Steinmetz (Berlin) it will take place at Methodist Central Hall Westminster on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of June 2020.

On Saturday 20th June Dan & Uwe with the Jazz Vespers team from Methodist Central Hall Westminster will lead a special concert exploring ‘The Sacred Music of Jazz’ featuring music from Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and contemporary drummer, Brian Blade. On Sunday, 21st June, jazz music will form part of the usual Morning Worship service at 11am in the Great Hall, followed by a full ‘Jazz Vespers’ service in the Great Hall at 6pm where Prof Clive Marsh will preach on ‘Improvising God’.
