Church Services Suspension – Statement.

Church Services Suspension – Statement.

It is with sadness that the Methodist Church in Britain today, (Tuesday, 17th March 2020) advised all Methodist Churches in the UK suspend services and church meetings, in line with Government advice.  We at Methodist Central Hall Westminster will follow this advice with immediate effect.  During the unprecedented and difficult times in which we now live,  we are working with the trustees of the building, our conference company Central Hall Westminster Ltd and partners to see if there are ways of delivering some form of our regular church services ‘online’ and even allowing our Chapel to be open for private prayer.

We will continue to update our website and Social Media Channels with more information over the coming days.

The ministers and Leadership Team of the church encourage the congregation to continue to pray for us all, especially those directly affected by the virus, those responding directly to the crisis and all working in our NHS.

God of all hope we call on you today.
We pray for those who are living in fear:
Fear of illness, fear for loved ones, fear of other’s reactions to them.
May your Spirit give us a sense of calmness and peace.

We pray for your church in this time of uncertainty.
For those people who are worried about attending worship.
For those needing to make decisions in order to care for other
For those who will feel more isolated by not being able to attend.
Grant us your wisdom.

Holy God, we remember that you have promised that
Nothing will separate us from your love – demonstrated to us in Jesus Christ.
Help us turn our eyes, hearts and minds to you.
