At a Sunday evening healing Service, Joan and I prayed with a man called Marios who had come for prayer following a broken marriage. Marios mentioned that his eyes were tired and that he generally was feeling the same way.
After the service was long finished and we were having tea and chatting in the Crush Hall, Marios came running towards me. He had been to McDonald’s to get a coffee and, as he looked around while waiting, he realised he could see everything much more distinctly than before. A fuzziness to his sight was gone and what he saw was now much sharper. He was overjoyed and wanted to get back in time to tell me his story and gave permission for me to share it with you.
Two days after attending the healing service, Marios sent me an email in which he wrote:
I hope this email finds you well. As you might imagine, I am still overjoyed as a result of experiencing God’s healing power and compassionate love since yesterday’s healing service. Since reflecting on yesterday I can see how downcast I felt from my ongoing grief; resonating the psalmist :‘Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.’(Psalm 31).
My eyes have literally been tired and weak for the last 18 months and after some initial extensive eye tests my only diagnosis has been ‘dry eyes’ (lay terms). Yet, yesterday God pretty much lifted this burden from me. I wasn’t expecting this when I left the church and couldn’t quite believe how the clarity in my vision was further restored and how the resonating tiredness behind my eyes had really subsided. Hence, me rushing back to tell you! Today is much the same.
Do you have a story of God’s healing power in your life? If so, share it with someone as Marios did with me, and also as Marcia did after a recent healing service.
