Society Sunday 2018

Society Sunday 2018

Methodist Central Hall Westminster in partnership with Premier will be celebrating Society Sunday by hosting their National ‘Local Heroes’ service this Sunday 10th June, 5:30pm in the Great Hall.

The service will be led by Tony, the preacher will be Peter Kerridge, Premier’s Chief Executive; and the worship will be led by Dave Bilbrough, Gerard Brooks, and the MCHW Choir.

Society Sunday is an annual project organised by Premier to encourage churches and individuals to be informed about and pray for their local communities.   The service will be led by Revd Tony Miles who is a regular presenter on Premier Christian Radio and the acting Superintendent Minister at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster.  Tony will be interviewing Laira Gold (Ignite Trust) and Tim Parsons (Chaplain to Paramedics) during the service, as we recognize their amazing voluntary work which is making a huge difference in the communities in which they live.  We shall also be hearing from Margo Uprichard (the Space Project, Glassgow).

This year over 500 churches have downloaded Premier’s Society Sunday  resource pack created to help them  organise a Society Sunday service and to identify and celebrate ‘local heroes’ working to make their city, town or village a better place to live and work in.

We do hope people will be part of this event and bring their friends as we celebrate the impact ‘local heroes’ are making across the UK.   The occasion will also be recorded for broadcast later the same evening – so do come and join the worship to help make it an inspiring programme.  Premier through its radio stations, magazines, websites and other ministries is privileged to be able to communicate to over 1.2 million people every week.
