Revd Dr Martyn Atkins, Superintendent Minister at Methodist Central Hall Westminster said, ‘ The church family at Methodist Central Hall Westminster were delighted to host the Vice President of the Conference, Professor Clive Marsh, on the first Sunday of the Connexional Year. Professor Marsh joined members of the Leadership Team and a short but stimulating conversation about contemporary faith and atheism ensued. Preaching at the evening service, and in the context of Holy Communion and healing prayer, the Vice President spoke powerfully about ‘On Being Content’ using the phrase from Philippians ‘I have learned in all things to be content with what I have’ to contend for contentment as a counter-cultural but increasingly necessary Christian aptitude. The whole visit was a blessing and a gift.
